Music Ministry for Adults

The Chapel and Chancel Choirs combine for special events throughout the year such as Festival of Carols, major choral works at Easter, and other large musical events.  Our September Songs event has featured special guest composers including Allen Pote, Randall Stroope, Andre Thomas, and Joseph Martin.   

The adult choirs have presented major works including Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Durufle’s Requiem, John Rutter’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ.

In 2006, members from the Chancel Choir toured England and Scotland, singing at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Dornoch Cathedral in the Scottish Highlands, and First Methodist Church of Inverness, Scotland.

In June 2008, members of our Adult Music Ministry sang in a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City, along with other United Methodist Church choirs from the area.

The Chancel and Chapel Choirs also sang for the 2008 General Conference of the United Methodist Church in Fort Worth.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. worship service each week.  This group is open to anyone who enjoys singing music of a wide variety of styles. 
No audition is required.    Childcare is provided.

Chapel Choir

The Chapel Choir sings at the 8:30 a.m. worship service twice a month, meeting September through May.  This group is open to all adults.  No audition is required.  Childcare is available.
