Rev. Ntambue Joseph Kazadi
African Ministry
Joseph Kazadi Ntambue grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Africa) and graduated from Sheppard & Lapsley University of Congo in 1980. He has a Master of Divinity from Protestant Seminary of Kinshasa/Congo (1987), a Master‘s degree in Christian Education from Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary in Atlanta (2000), and a Doctor of Ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary (2003).
Joseph has worked as Professor and Director of Development at Sheppard & Lapsley University/Seminary of Congo, National Director of Christian Education and Youth Department of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Congo (PCC), and Missionary in Ethiopia (Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus of Ethiopia, Africa). In addition to his teaching and working for the General Assembly of the PCC, Joseph served several congregations in the Congo as an ordained Presbyterian minister before coming to the United States in 2008. He joined FUMC Hurst in 2009.
Joseph will bring a level of expertise to our congregation’s ministries with African immigrants that has previously not existed within our community of faith. He will be a key resource to help inspire and equip our church to work in this ministry. He will be the catalyst to start a movement of FUMC Hurst’s members to be involved in God’s mission to immigrants from the African continent, who are living in our area and attending our church.
Joseph and his wife, Marie Ntumba, have eight children — five children live with Joseph and Marie here, and three live in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa.
