Johnny Brower
Lead Pastor
Rev. Johnny Brower was appointed as the Lead Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Hurst, in July 2024.
Prior to his time at FUMC Hurst, he served as the Senior Pastor at Hutto Discovery United Methodist Church and as an Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, TX. A lifelong United Methodist, Johnny credits his parents, John and Tina Brower, for instilling in him a strong foundation of faith.
Pastor Johnny holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at TCU. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center and the East District Committee on Ordained Ministry, supporting the development of future church leaders.
Passionate about sharing the grace and truth of God’s love, Johnny believes the church is at its best when it fosters belonging and transformation. He loves walking alongside people in their faith journeys, creating space for meaningful worship, deep relationships, and authentic discipleship.
Johnny is the proud husband of Holly and the father of Charlie. The Browers share their home with their beloved dog, Max, and cat, Jojo. Outside of ministry, Johnny enjoys the outdoors—whether relaxing in a hammock or hiking a trail. He loves reading, running, and enthusiastically cheering (and occasionally yelling) at the TV during Arsenal matches, Cowboys games, Mavs, Rangers, and even trying to keep up with the Stars.
