No matter what predicament, problem or difficulty we are facing, the Lord has a way when there seems to be no solution in sight. When all things fail and seem hopeless, God always makes a way when there seems to be no way.
Ms. Marie Mbulu was born and lived in Africa. She came to the United States in 2010. Here is her story of how God provided a way out of her difficult situation:
I left my country in 2006, fleeing conflicts, human right abuses, harassment, and rape of women. In October 2006, I found myself in Russia in search of protection. Unfortunately, my application for asylum was denied and I was put in jail. For five years I was abandoned, lost, and despaired. I was in a hopeless situation and I could not see any way out. Every day tears ran down my cheek. I felt like a dead woman in a world of strangers.
I was released from prison in 2010. I then decided to live in the United States. I chose to live in Memphis, Tennessee where I could stay with a friend. After two months, I moved from Memphis to Texas where I again tried to obtain asylum. Undocumented and without a job or income, I found myself in a more difficult situation than before. After many complicated steps, I finally got my papers. Nevertheless, even with papers, it was difficult to find a job because of the language barrier. Eventually, I got a part time job that I lost after a year. As a single mother, without income or transportation I was again like a dead person.
In 2013, I moved to Euless, Texas where I began visiting the First United Methodist Church of Hurst. I was warmly welcomed by church members and the clergy. They encouraged me, prayed for me, and supported me morally, spiritually, and financially. They understood the many challenges I was facing and they gave me hope. I am very grateful to everyone at FUMC Hurst for everything they have done for me.
As child of God, I know that the darkness does not always prevail. One day I discovered a job opportunity that was looking for qualified people. I applied for the job even though I lacked qualification. Two days later, they called me and the supervisor told me, “this job requires a certificate, but our staff has decided to hire you and we will train you to obtain a certificate.” To me, it was by God’s grace that I was offered that job.
Today, I can say that I was dead and now I have risen with Christ. I am so thankful to God. I do believe that God always provides a solution to any problem we face. God will make a way when there seems to be no way. God is good.
