So far in 2019, FUMC Hurst has given $17,000 in support of our Adopt-A-School partners in the form of grants, teacher appreciation, school supplies, wish list items for schools and teachers, the Hot Dog Extravaganza, and more.

- FUMC Hurst is also a HEB ISD District sponsor with a pledged gift of $15,000 between 2020-2022 to the HEB ISD Education Foundation.
We love our neighborhood schools! From school supplies, teacher support and appreciation, the Hot Dog Extravaganza, Empowered to Excel Grants through the HEB ISD Education Foundation, the Christmas Shopping Spree, a backpack feeding program, spirit shirts, mentors, and more, we are doing everything we can to show the teachers, students, and administrators in our communities that we are with them and we love them.
The Village Library after-school program supports the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (HEB ISD). The program has served students with academic and financial needs for over 20 years. Students enter the program with a C-average or lower and we consistently see more than 80% of students end their school year with a B-average or higher. Project Transformation is a daily summer reading program for children who are at a high risk of falling behind in school because of an inability to read on-level. Every summer, many reading volunteers are needed to help provide a one on one reading opportunity for every student.
CarePortal connects our church to families in the child welfare system. The support we offer as we walk with these families can help prevent them from going deeper into the child welfare system or from being separated. Most often, families need beds, but there are other needs as well.

"Serving Our Seniors" has operated in Hurst for over thirty years to provide Hope, Help and Healing to resident Seniors.
Tarrant Area Food Bank supplies regional food pantries (like Mission Central) with groceries for food insecure families. Every hour we volunteer with TAFB earns free groceries for Mission Central!
The United Methodist Committee on Relief is the UMC’s emergency response network. UMCOR volunteers provide relief after a disaster by helping families to prevent further damage to their homes or property. UMCOR volunteers are required to attend a certification class and must renew every three years. Visit their website for upcoming trainings.
The number of homeless students identified by HEBISD as of 2018 was over 450 students. Jump 4 Joy is a community fundraiser to provide support to these families on an emergency basis. Tarrant County Hands of Hope is a homeless outreach in Haltom City working to serve the homeless in Northeast Tarrant County. This is a new sacred partnership for FUMC Hurst and we look forward to deepening our connections with this organization.
Trinity Habitat builds strong families and neighborhoods through home construction. FUMC Hurst partners with Trinity Habitat for construction days on various projects.
